RECREATION

In the Shellharbour Council Area between Wollongong and Kiama, ideally situated at the junction of routes to Sydney and the Southern Highlands, there is a lot to do:
Kiama and Shellharbour offer wonderful beaches and long coastal walks and bicycle tracks. Both are within a 20 minute drive from Albion Park. Lake Illawarra offers boating experiences, and the Airport at Albion Park has microlights, gyrocopters and other small aircraft for hire.
Further south, the Shoalhaven Region is a majestic stretch of coastline bordered by the mountains and magnificent beaches. Jervis Bay, Mollymook, Nowra and Ulladulla are among the region's coastal destinations while the historic country villages of Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Milton are some of the hinterland favourites, with great cafes and restaurants, antique shops, galleries and local museums to explore. The natural environment is great for fishing, diving, canoeing, boating, bush walking and cycling.
A drive to Bowral over spectacular Macquarie Pass only takes an hour through the gentle green hills of the Southern Highlands. A cool climate and rich soil have produced excellent wines and beautiful, formal gardens. The Southern Highlands region is known for its heritage villages and old world charm. A nice day out!
And of course a visit to Sydney, by train or car, is only a 90 minute commute away.
